Standard choice questions are fast, familiar, and easy to field. They also compress a lot of judgment into a single click: social norms, uncertainty, and what respondents think you want to hear can all land in the same response bucket.

Peer-choice asks a different question: not only “what would you pick?” but “what do you think others would pick?” That shift changes incentives. Respondents often reveal different mental models, category assumptions, and perceived social defaults than they state for themselves.

RAADZ is built around peer-choice as the proprietary method, with own-choice included on the same tasks when it improves calibration, so teams can see alignment vs divergence side by side, then move to structured interpretation. This is not a claim that one format is universally “truer.” It is a practical observation: when peer-choice and own-choice diverge, you frequently learn something worth investigating before you commit budget to messaging, positioning, or roadmap bets.
